Hi,
Well here it is the 18th of November and I am just getting back to you all.  We are having a great time and the weather has been great up until today.  It has not gone above 46 since 7:30 this morning.  I actually watched the temperature drop.  I know it isn't as cold as some other places but this is cold enough for us.  Tomorrow isn't looking to good either but then by the weekend we will be back on the beach.
We have been enjoying our friends and just sort of getting to know the area again.  My friend Sis and I are going to chair bingo at the Catholic Church on the island.  It is every Thursday for an hour and is free.  We are really enjoying it and gives us a chance to meet some new people.  Everyone is very friendly and they all look like us!!!  We laugh a lot.  We have been to two bazaars and to the sidewalk sale on the island.  All these activities leading up to the Holidays.
Jack and I were looking at newer motor homes.  Stopped at a RV place in Sanford on the way home from Costco and then went up to Daytona to a show.  Came away with no new motor home.  We will probably continue to look and dream but right now we are very happy with what we have and it is paid for.  We also went looking at houses this past weekend but aren't ready to give up traveling.
We are spending Thanksgiving with our friends in Castleberry.  Scott and Kathleen are the son and daughter-in-law of our friends that are here in NSB with us.  Always fun to be with family on the holidays.
Have you all started your Christmas shopping?  I am going to do some tomorrow.  Jack is going to the VA in Daytona and I'm going along and then we are going to do some retail therapy.  My goal is to be done by the first week in December and have everything in the mail.  We really don't do too much so should be doable.  Stay tuned and see if I make my goal.
Working on getting pictures out there for you all.  We have really been lax in taking pics but I think you would love to see some of this part of the world.  We will start taking the camera with us and share with you.
Have a great week.

Hi!
We have had an exciting time since I last blogged.  Jack went fishing the very next day and I went with him.  Good thing too or he wouldn't have had a witness to his catch.  He caught 4 fish that he could keep.  He didn't have a bucket to put them in so of course, Mr. Fix-it figured he could use the bag one of those fold up chairs come in.  He put the fish in there and then attached it to his pole spike so it would be in the water and keep the fish fresh.  We were there for a good 2 hours and the water was coming and going just like it is supposed to.  We gathered up all our stuff and and come home.  He was cleaning out the car and fussing around with his fishing poles and then he decided to clean the fish.  Went over to the hose and dumped out the bag.  Low and behold the fish were smarter than Mr. Fix-it.  When the water came in and went out so did they.  The bag was full of sand and that was all.  Well, it has now become a good story.  I do have pictures of the fish.
We went to the Oktoberfest here at the camp ground on Friday night and enjoyed ourselves.  Talked to some of the residents.  Quiet weekend but on Monday our friends arrived for their 4 months here.  We spent the afternoon with them and went to the beach on Tuesday.  Found a great burger place in NSB where we sat looking at the water and watching the waves while we chowed down.
Been to the eye doctor and went to purchase new glasses.  Having some problems with dry eyes but working on that.  Liked the Doctor.  He is young and seems to be well versed on Glaucoma.  Will see him again before we leave and then next year when we come back.
Going to dinner tonight with our friends and then back to their place to play some cards.  Just another weekend in Florida!!!  Will talk a little more later but until then stay warm.

As promised I'm back to fill you all in on the last couple of days.  Not a lot going on.  We are all settled into our winter home.  We haven't done a lot of things this week.  Spent Monday afternoon at the beach and it was a beautiful day.  Nice breeze and some clouds.  We went out for dinner Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant for nachos (were OK) and frozen Margaritas (were wonderful).  We had a good storm on Tuesday night and that brought the humidity way down.  Was able to turn off the air conditioner yesterday and today.  Hope it stays like this for the winter.  Dreaming aren't I?
It's bike week or weekend or something and the park is starting to fill up.  We have some new neighbors.  One we know will be here for the winter but I believe the other two are only here for awhile.  They have their motorcycles with them.  We can hear the party going on up on the highway by the Harley Davidson dealer and the bar next door.  Free music at lunch and at night.
Tomorrow we got tickets to go to the Oktoberfest here at the pool.  Goes from 5-8 and will give us a chance to meet some of the other residents.
Jack is trying the fishing thing again.  Went this afternoon for a couple of hours and is talking about going again tomorrow morning.  Will let you know how that works out for him.  Fingers crossed he actually catches something.
We are going to try our hand at some crafts. Will posts pictures if that works out.  Arts and crafts are not my strong point but I will try.
Well, enough for today.  I will let you know all about the party when I post again in a few days.

It's Saturday evening and we are in New Smyrna Beach.  We had a good ride down to Florida.  We got into a little traffic on Friday but the earlier part of our trip was good.  We stayed in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia and each of the RV parks were great.  The one in Georgia was small and was on a lake.  We met some of the campers and got to talk to a couple from Levittown, PA.  They were on their way to Miami and then to Key West.  The gentleman that ran the Park in North Carolina was good enough to tell us where to stop for gas to get the best price.  He was right.  South Carolina is cheaper than North Carolina and Georgia is cheaper than Florida when you get past Savannah.
We have been setting up home and decorating for Halloween and now we can relax and go to the beach.  Jack can try fishing again and see if he can catch anything here.
We talked to Erin today and she wants to know when we are going to be in her neck of the woods.  We are planning to head west in April.  Want to go to a bunch of places between here and Oregon but never fear we will be there to do their "Daddy do" list.
Will have Jack take and post some pictures around the RV Park so you all can see where we are.
Check back in a few days and I will bore you all some more.

Hi everyone,
We are back on the road.  Left New Jersey today around 9 and headed south.  We need to take a minute and thank Dotsie for opening her house to us for the last 6 months.  It was great to spend so much time with family.
We made it through, really around both Baltimore and Washington DC with no problems and we stopped for lunch and avoided the traffic on 95 in Manasses VA.  Pulled into the RV park around 3 and we are all set up and ready to relax.  I thought I would take a minute to blog before I get side tracked.  Not much else to say.  Tomorrow we are headed for Lumberton, NC.  That's funny since we left Lumberton, NJ today.
Check back for more info.

Hi again,
When I left off the other day we had gotten through the end of July.  We came back to New Jersey and headed down the shore with Jack's sister Barbara for a week.  We went to Ocean City, NJ.  Had beautiful weather and spent almost every day on the beach.  Been many years since Jack and I spent a week at the shore. We had so much fun we found a camp site on the mainland side across from Sea Isle City and booked two weeks in September.  Then we came home from the shore to prepare for our trip to Ireland.  Yes, we decided to take a vacation from our retirement and spent 12 days on tour in Ireland.  It was all we could wish for and more.  We did a tour that took us around the perimeter of the entire island.  We spent a day in Dublin, two in Northern Ireland (Belfast and Derry (Londonderry)) and then down the western coast and back up the eastern coast to Dublin.  It was great.  We visited Westport, Galway, Dingle, the Cliffs of Mohr, Giants Parkway, Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone, Bunratty's Castle and saw the 40 shades of green of Ireland.  We had a great tour guide and if anyone is interested CIE Tours is a fantastic all inclusive tour company. I am thinking that I would go back to Ireland again and again.  But not right away.  We came back and then took the camper down the shore for two weeks.  September at the Jersey Shore is quiet during the week but a little busy on the weekend.  We spent a couple of fun days with Bob and Shirley, Jack's cousin and his wife.  One day we went to lunch and then to the Cape May County Zoo.  What a nice zoo.  We walked around for about 3 hours and enjoyed the animals and the beautiful day.  We also went to the Miss America Parade of Shoes in Atlantic City on the night before the Miss America Pageant.  That was a fun night.  The parade went on despite the rain and the contestants all were great sports and the bands played and had a good time.  Jack and I also went to the Hydroplane races in Wildwood.  A good time was had by both of us.  I picked the winners in all but one race so Jack decided I should go to the track. Yeah right I can see the money flying out the window.
Back to Lumberton for two weeks before we head to New Smyrna Beach for the winter.  We will be staying at my cousins house while she goes on a cruise so the puppies don't get lonely during the day.
Stay tuned in a couple of weeks for the next installment.

Catching up the the Shellers Great Adventure

Hi everyone,
I know it has been almost a year since I have blogged and I am apologizing for my laziness.  Jack and I were driving to dinner after the Hydroplane races on Sunset Lake in Wildwood, NJ and he told me he thought I should start blogging again and catch you all up.  I kept thinking all day about sitting down to catch you up and tonight I thought what better time to start.
We spent last winter in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and loved it so much we are going back this year.  We had a great campground with lots of activities and the town is very active, great beaches and only 15 miles from Daytona Beach so if we want a bigger city we just have to jump on 95 or Route 1.  We spent most of our time there with our friends, Sis and Ken Deshong.  Sis and I have been friends since we were little girls and I won't mention how many years ago we met.
We had a lovely Christmas with Ken and Sis and her son Scott and his family.  Was so much fun to get to know is wife and family.  Was a really great year for catching up with Sis' family.  We spent 3 days with her daughter Ann and her family in Washington state last August.
We were going to stay for just under 2 months but we liked the area so much we extended our stay to include February.  We visited the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canavaral, went to see the manatees and watched a satellite launch one night.  We also found some great places to eat and enjoyed a beautiful beach.  Jack will be posting some pictures but that may take a while for him to catch up.
We were going to stay another month but we had to leave in early March so we could get back to NJ to spend some time with our cousin Michael before he passed away.  We are so thankful that we were able to be there with him.  In May Erin and Scott came and spent their vacation with us.  They were able to get a weekend in NYC and two days in Philadelphia also.  We went to Atlantic City over night and showed Scott a bit of the East Coast.  This was his first trip east and hopefully he enjoyed it.  We had a huge party at Dotsie's for all the family and friends that hadn't seen Erin in years and they all got to check Scott out.  I think that went well.
We really spent all of the rest of spring and most of summer in NJ with family.  Jack did a number on his neck and shoulder and had to have physical therapy so we didn't do our summer trip.  We did do two weeks in Gettysburg.  That was fun.  The town is a pretty little historic town and that area of Pennsylvania is lovely.  We had great weather and spent one day in Hershey visiting Hershey chocolate.
Well that took us through the end of July and you will have to check back in a few days to hear the rest of our story.
