Bonjour!  We have arrived in Canada.  Easy ride up yesterday on decent roads and the scenery was great.  No problems going through customs except that we got in the truck lane and we should have gotten in the car lane.  Who knew,  well now we do.  The customs agent (I guess that's what they call them in Canada) was very polite and asked us our business in Canada and sent us on our way.  We thought they would want to look in the Motor Home and that we would be at the border for awhile but no longer than going through a toll lane without an easy pass!  The drive to the campsite was through some small towns and villages. Houses and yards were really well kept and seemed to be very tranquil.  Was fun to see road signs for snowmobile crossings.  Speaking of road signs, did I tell you about the ones we saw going to Burlington VT?  They were for Moose and Bear crossings.  I was watching but didn't see any.
Out campsite is really nice.  Includes a nice patio with table and chairs and a glider.  Also a bar-b-cue pit. Jack took pictures so watch for them.  Took a walk around and then had dinner and stayed in.  Beautiful in the day time but as soon as the sun goes in the temps drop.  We had all the windows opened until around 8 then we couldn't close them fast enough.
Today we ventured into Montreal.  It is only about 20 minutes from the campsite and it was really an easy trip.  We found a place to park and walked all over old town.  Beautiful!  Went to the Basilique Notre-Dame De Montreal.  It is just an amazing church.  I would love to go to Mass there but we won't be here on Sunday.  We took a 20 minute guided tour and learned a lot about the church and about Montreal itself.  This Basilique holds 10,000 people.  They also have a chapel behind the main part of the church where they hold daily Mass and you can be married there.  The guide said you can be married in the Basilique but it is very expensive and you would need a lot of guests.  He said 200-300 guests wouldn't even fill the front.  After that we walked around the town pass the Three Courthouses and went into the City Hall.  The architecture is amazing.  We then walked down to the water front and spent some time there.  We stumbled on the Place Saint-Jacques.  This is a fun street to walk.  Has plenty of restaurants and sidewalk vendors and cute little alleyways with artists and jewelry stores.  Was fun to look.  We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe and then walked around.  Left Montreal around 3 so we could avoid the rush hour and was home in 40 minutes.
Have to say that we truly enjoyed out Montreal adventure and are looking forward to our next adventure in Ottawa.
