Happy Sunday,
Today is the 1st of December and the last day we will be in Asheville, NC.  We have had a wonderful time here.  One of the most beautiful areas of the country.  I have always liked the Blue Ridge area.  We have enjoyed this visit and will probably come back some day.  Would love to see it in the late spring or in the fall.
We spent all day Friday at the Biltmore Estate.  It is beautiful.  We arrived at the ticket office around 10:30 and got our tickets.  We had 11:45 reservations and so had time to wander around the ticket office.  It was decorated for Christmas and had some lovely views.  We then watched a short movie about the Vanderbilts and the Biltmore and then drove 3 miles up to the parking lots.  We got a good spot and caught the shuttle bus to the mansion.  We walked around outside and Jack took some pictures and then we hit the restrooms (of course) and got in line for our tour.  We rented headsets inside and that was the best $10. we spent.  The tour took a good 2 and a half hours and very informative.  The rooms are just amazing and the decorations took my breath away.  Jack took some pictures but not sure if he was supposed to but we did anyway.  After the tour we had some lunch which turned out to be our dinner also and then walked around the shops.  We then got our car and drove to the Antler Hill Village and Winery.  We walked around the shops there and stopped for some home made ice cream.  It was wonderful and the reason that lunch became dinner also.  I couldn't finish mine so Jack had his and the rest of mine.  We passed up the tour of the working farm and headed to the winery.  Toured the winery but passed up the wine tasting.  The lines were long and I found out in the gift shop that you can taste any wine you are interested in buying.  I could have spent a lot of money in there and have thought of going back a few times but resisted.  After getting some wine we headed home for the night.
Saturday brought another beautiful day so we headed into Asheville's downtown area and walked around there.  We covered quite a few blocks and some wonderful shops.  Very crafty area and lots to see.  We had a lovely lunch in the Grove Arcade and then walked around the shops in that area.  Headed home around three and relaxed.
Today was a rest day as we are leaving in the morning for Yemassee, SC.  We will be there for a week and will be visiting Charleston, SC, Savannah GA and Hilton Head.  Will keep you posted.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and that you all are looking forward to Christmas.
